3. Local Storage and Offline Use
MineIQ may store certain application information locally on your device to support application functionality and offline use.
Information stored locally remains on your device unless you remove the application, clear its data, or otherwise delete the information through available device or application functions.
4. Mine Manager Simulator
MineIQ includes the Mine Manager Simulator, an offline mining-management training and engagement feature.
Simulator information such as career level, game scores, attempts, streaks, and in-progress shift data is stored locally on the user's device. The simulator does not require a separate game account.
Local simulator progress can be removed by clearing MineIQ application data or uninstalling the application. Removing local simulator progress does not, by itself, delete a signed-in MineIQ account or cloud data.
5. Cloud Storage and Synchronization
When you use supported signed-in features, MineIQ may synchronize application data with cloud services used by MineIQ.
MineIQ uses Firebase services for supported authentication and cloud functionality. Depending on the feature, this may include Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore.
Guest usage may operate differently and may not provide the same cloud synchronization capabilities available to signed-in users.
6. Google Sign-In
MineIQ provides Google Sign-In as an authentication option.
If you choose to sign in using Google, Google may provide MineIQ with account information required to authenticate your account, such as your email address and basic profile information permitted by the sign-in process.
Google's handling of your information is governed by Google's own privacy policies and terms.
7. Firebase and Third-Party Services
MineIQ uses third-party services to provide certain application functionality. These services may process information as necessary to provide their respective services.
These services may include:
- Google Firebase Authentication.
- Google Firebase Cloud Firestore.
- Google Sign-In services.
- Google Firebase AI Logic and the Google Gemini Developer API, used to provide MineIQ AI features.
- Other technical services required for application operation, security, diagnostics, or supported functionality.
Third-party providers process information according to their respective terms and privacy policies.

- Mining engineering explanations.
- Mining calculations and engineering support.
- Shift analysis.
- Record review.
- AI shift handover preparation.

MineIQ AI uses Google Firebase AI Logic and the Google Gemini Developer API to generate responses.
When you choose to use MineIQ AI, information you submit to that feature may be transmitted to the AI service for processing. Depending on the feature, this may include:
- Questions typed by the user.
- Mining calculation inputs.
- Mining-related context provided by the user.
- Shift information.
- Records intentionally supplied by the user for review.
- Text pasted by the user for explanation.
Gemini Free-Tier Disclosure
MineIQ currently uses an unpaid, free tier of the Gemini Developer API. Under Google's terms applicable to unpaid Gemini API services, content you submit and the responses generated may be used by Google to provide, improve, and develop Google products and machine-learning technologies, and such content may in some cases be reviewed by human reviewers.
Users should avoid submitting passwords, authentication credentials, payment-card information, confidential company information, commercially sensitive mining information, sensitive personal information, or other sensitive operational information into AI prompts unless they are authorized to provide that information for AI processing.
AI Accuracy and Safety Disclaimer
AI-generated responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for a particular mine, operating condition, or legal requirement. MineIQ AI does not replace approved mine plans, statutory records, applicable regulatory requirements, official DGMS notices, standard operating procedures, competent-person instructions, site-specific safety procedures, or professional engineering judgment.
9. Reports, PDF and Excel Exports
MineIQ allows users to generate and export certain records and reports into formats such as PDF and Excel.
Exported files are controlled by the user and may contain information entered into MineIQ. Users are responsible for handling exported files securely and sharing them only with appropriate recipients.
Attendance, workforce and payroll reports and exports may contain personal information about workers or employees, so they should be shared only with authorized recipients. These outputs are record-keeping and calculation aids. They are not statutory registers, certified payroll records or payslips issued under law, and they do not confirm compliance with wage, labour, social-security, tax or other applicable requirements. Users remain responsible for verifying attendance, wage rates, deductions and payments, and for maintaining any records required by law.

11. Data Security
We take reasonable measures intended to protect information processed by MineIQ from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their devices, account credentials, exported files, and other information under their control.

We do not knowingly request personal information from children for the purpose of creating accounts or using professional MineIQ services.
15. Permissions
MineIQ may request access to device capabilities or information only when required for a particular feature.
The availability and exact permissions may vary depending on the version of the application, device, operating system, and features being used.
16. Privacy Notice in the App
MineIQ may present a privacy and data notice during initial setup or after a material change to data practices. The notice provides access to this Privacy Policy and the MineIQ account and data deletion page.
MineIQ may store a local record indicating that the current privacy notice has been acknowledged so the same notice does not need to be shown on every app launch.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to MineIQ, applicable laws, third-party services, or our data practices.
When changes are made, the updated policy will be published at this URL and the effective date will be updated where appropriate.
